Athlete of the Week: Johnson a Guiding Force for L-W West Volleyball
Warriors senior Rachel Johnson helped her team win 10 consecutive matches to open the season.

knew it wouldn’t be easy last Monday when it faced Lockport in a Southwest Suburban girls volleyball crossover.
The Warriors won the first game 25-22, dropped the second one 16-25, and then rallied for a 25-23 victory in the final game to improve its record to 10-0.
As a leader both on and off the court, was strong again on Wednesday night, although the Warriors came up short for the first time this fall. The Warriors won the first game 27-25, but Andrew roared back to win the final two games, 25-18 and 25-21, to secure the match in the Southwest Suburban Red opener.

Johnson paced the Warriors in the loss with 13 kills.
The Warriors returned to action on Friday night in the Oak Lawn tournament. Johnson and the Warriors won twice on Friday, cruising past Reavis, 25-21, 25-14 and Rich South, 25-12, 25-10.

Through Sept. 16, the Warriors are 12-1. Johnson has 64 digs, 44 kills and 10 blocks.
For her leadership and performance on the court this week, she has been named Patch's Athlete of the Week.
