Athlete of the Week: Lincoln-Way West's Excellency, Matt Bishop

Warriors pitcher ordains Sandburg's bats quiet, tosses complete-game victory to improve to 3-0 this spring.

Lincoln-Way West’s pitching staff yielded 13 runs to Lockport in a loss on Tuesday, and six more to Manteno during a 7-6 victory on Wednesday.

Playing their third game in as many days, the Warriors were looking for Matt Bishop to shut down Sandburg’s attack and eat up as many innings as possible.

Bishop certainly did his part, and on a day when runs were difficult to come by, he was just strong enough to help the Warriors hold on for a 2-1 victory.
