Athletic Director Picks Top 5 LWW Feats Of 2016-2017

Ted Robbins highlights the top five athletic accomplishments from the 2016-2017 school year at Lincoln-Way West High School.

NEW LENOX, IL -- Lincoln-Way West High School Athletic Director Ted Robbins chose five athletic team achievements from the 2016-2017 school year to highlight before the 2017-2018 year starts.

He chose the following five and stressed how proud the athletic department is with “all of its students, staff and supporters.”

  • The LWW Wrestling team took third place in the state finals completing their most successful season ever. The team was 24-4 when they claimed their third place finish.
  • West’s girls soccer team were sectional champions for the first time and advanced to the super sectional in their most-successful season in school history.
  • Taking fourth in the IHSA state finals, LWW’s Competitive Dance team were back to back sectional champions and remained a consistent contender for the state title.
  • The LWW baseball team ended their own victorious season claiming both conference and regional championships.
  • Boys Bowling were first time state qualifiers as a team and finished in ninth place overall.

“The students continue to experience outstanding team and individual success in all of their respective sports and contests,” Robbins said. “We will miss our seniors but are looking forward to welcoming our new incoming freshman in the fall of 2017.”
