Driver Blew Red Light Causing Route 30 Crash: Police

NEW LENOX, IL - Neither driver was seriously injured in Thursday morning's crash at Route 30 and Marley Road that was caused because one of the motorists blew a red light, according to New Lenox's Police Department. Police said the vehicle traveling westbound on Route 30 "appeared to disobey a red light."
"Subsequently a vehicle traveling northbound on Marley was struck by the westbound vehicle," police said.
Both motorists were taken by ambulance to Silver Cross Hospital for "non-life threatening injuries," police said. Both drivers were from the Lincoln Way area, police said, but additional details were not available.

The WJOL news radio station in Joliet is reporting there was a bad crash on Thursday morning in New Lenox that left two vans tipped on their sides. The wreck happened at Route 30 and Marley near the Walmart, WJOL reported. To see a photo of the wreck, visit the WJOL website.
