Benefit to Aid Local 20-Month-Old Battling Brain Cancer
Jase Snevely is on life support and his family needs the community's support.
A benefit to be held at 115 Bourbon Street Friday night will help the family of a Lincoln-Way Central grad, whose 20-month old son is fighting brain cancer.
Jase Snevely was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 High Risk Neuroblastoma, and is undergoing chemotherapy. Jase was recently placed on life support after he contracted an infection during treatment three weeks ago.
“He is holding on and has had a few tiny improvements, including giving me a two-finger high five,” said his grandmother Maureen Carrigan.

Jase is the son of a firefighter/EMT in Thornton, who has left her post to live with Jase at the hospital. His father Mike is a graduate of Lincoln-Way Central who was injured in a training accident while serving in the Marine Corps. He is now training to become an EMT. The pair had intended to relocate their family, including their newborn baby girl, to Colorado.
“All plans are now on hold while Jase fights this monster in his belly,” Carrigan told Patch.
