Soil, Sky, and AI: The Science of Rain and Weather with Argonne National Lab

Soil, Sky, and AI: The Science of Rain and Weather with Argonne National Lab

Event Details

120 Veterans Pkwy, New Lenox, IL, 60451

If you want the seeds you planted to grow, you're going to need water. Rain is an essential ingredient in the lives of plants, so scientists are creating better tools to help understand and predict rainfall. Researchers at Argonne National Laboratory use cutting-edge instruments and artificial intelligence to explore everything from the moisture in soil to the rain and snow that fall to the ground to the clouds that form to create storms.

Argonne researchers Paytsar Muradyan and Matthew Tuftedal will share amazing tools for atmospheric research and share how AI is helping make better predictions for researchers, farmers, and even your weather station. And yes—they’re bringing tools and sensors for you to see and touch!
