New Lenox, IL – September 8, 2026 - Will County area residents are invited to attend Recyclepalooza on Saturday, September 12, a free collection event hosted by Will County Resource Recovery & Energy. The event gives residents a convenient way to dispose of hard-to-recycle materials like household hazardous waste, electronics, scrap metal, wood and foam. Appointments are required and can be booked at WillCountyGreen.com.
Dart Container, a leading provider of sustainable foodservice packaging solutions, is supporting the event by handling the collection and transport of clean foam polystyrene materials. All collected foam will be processed at Dart’s facilities and repurposed by manufacturers into products like picture frames and crown molding. Residents who cannot attend can drop off clean foam year-round at Dart’s North Aurora location, open to the public 24/7.
What: A free collection event for Will County area residents. Accepted materials include:
●Clean, bagged foam cups, clamshells, take-out containers, meat trays and rigid foam packaging
●Electronics: computers, monitors, printers, phones, cameras and batteries (limit 3 TVs)
●Household hazardous waste: cleaners, antifreeze, oil, pesticides, pool chemicals, medication
●Paint: latex, oil-based and aerosol paints, stains and thinners (limit 15 gallons per vehicle)
●Scrap metal and wood: hangers, keys, tools, car parts, pots and pans, boards and pallets
●Donations: clothing, shoes, toys, small home goods, cookware, food and worn American flags

●Not accepted: tires, garbage, fireworks, ammunition, fire extinguishers, sharps or appliances
