The Cancer Support Center, 19657 S. LaGrange Road, Mokena, Illinois 60448, offers gentle yoga classes on Tuesdays from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
The Cancer Support Center, 19657 S. LaGrange Road, Mokena, Illinois 60448, offers gentle yoga classes on Tuesdays from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., to reduce stress and address physical side-effects of cancer treatments. Seated and standing poses; chairs and mars are provided. Survivors and caregivers of all physical ability levels are welcome.
In 2014, The Cancer Support Center provided over 10,700 hours of programming in, which demonstrates the relevance and importance of the support services offered. These services hours are predominantly therapeutic in nature, either with individuals, couples, or family therapy or through networking/support groups. In addition, The Center provides nutrition counseling, therapeutic massage, body image support (through free wigs and breast prosthetics), and gentle fitness. All of these programs are offered at no cost and support the health and healing of our participants while helping them find hope during their cancer journey.
The Cancer Support Center gives strength, guidance and support to anyone living with a cancer diagnosis, as well as to their loved ones. The Center is a community-based, volunteer-driven, donor-supported organization. Programs, resources and services are always delivered by professional therapists, counselors, nutritionists, and experts; and, they are provided in a warm, welcoming and nurturing setting at no cost to participants.
