Chicago Man Caught Trying to Buy Hydrocodone With Forged Prescription at New Lenox Target: Cops

The prescription was written on a pad stolen from a doctor, police said.

A Chicago man trying to score hydrocodone from the New Lenox Target was arrested when a worker exposed him for using a phony prescription , police said.

Ray Crawford, 61, allegedly tried passing the bad prescription about noon Saturday.

An “officer was dispatched to Target (in) reference (to) a complaint of fraud,” police said.

“The complainant advised that Crawford presented a fraudulent prescription for hydrocodone,” police said. “The complainant confirmed with the doctor named as issuing the prescription that it was fraudulent. The doctor advised that he did not prescribe the prescription and that his prescription pad had been stolen.”

Crawford was charged with the illegal possession of a prescription form. He was taken to the Will County jail and his bond was set at $20,000.
