Chihuahuas To Strut Runway In Beauty Pageant At New Lenox Food Fight

NEW LENOX, IL — There's still time to give your lil' guys a chance to shine in New Lenox.

Chihuahua owners are invited to sign up their spicy little ones for their very own beauty pageant, to take place during the Village's Food Fight: Taco Fest on July 20. Organizers will accept entries until Friday, July 19 at the latest.

The chihuahua beauty pageant will take place at 3 p.m. Anyone with a chihuahua who is interested in entering them in the chihuahua beauty pageant, can find instructions online.

Last year's show had 40 contestants—some with glittery gowns and elaborate costumes, and others—like the late winner Peanut—riding in a bedecked ridin' in a bedecked trailer pulled by a Jeep.

A couple of things they'll need to know about your dog:

• Dog's name
• Breed (chihuahua or chihuahua mix)
• Age
• A fun fact about them
• If your dog had one wish, it would be...
• Song of choice for runway walk (keep it appropriate for all ages!)

Everyone will have to play nice. Please note that all contestants must be non-aggressive toward humans as well as other dogs. Dogs showing aggression will be disqualified and asked to leave.
