Cops: New Lenox Drug Dealer Mixed LSD, Candy
A tip led New Lenox Police to investigate suspected drug activity at the Gustafson home.

NEW LENOX, IL - The New Lenox Police Department is pleased that a citizen's anonymous tip led to the arrest of a young man in the community who is suspected of dealing LSD, marijuana and other drug-related paraphernalia. Last Friday night, George Gustafson, 21, was taken away in handcuffs by officers with the New Lenox Police Department who were assisted by the MANS drug unit, New Lenox Deputy Chief of Police Louis Alessandrini told Patch on Wednesday. This week, the Will County State's Attorney's Office filed five felony drug charges against Gustafson, who lives in the 200 block of West Illinois Highway in New Lenox.
Gustafson is charged with three felonies related to manufacturing cannabis and two felonies related to LSD possession. On Friday, Feb 2, New Lenox police executed a search warrant and confiscated drugs, pills and several thousand dollars in cash that police believe were drug profits of Gustafson, Alessandrini said.
Police also said the LSD seized during the raid was in a liquid form. Police say that Gustafson was combining the LSD with pieces of candy, putting the LSD back into small candy wrappers. Additionally, New Lenox police said they recovered cannabis oils and waxes.

Will County court records show that Gustafson, as a teenager, was charged in 2015 with misdemeanor drug possession. In 2016, he pleaded guilty and got one year of court probation for that offense.
