Counterfeit Cash Turns Up At New Lenox Gas Station

A customer passed counterfeit money at a North Cedar Road service station.

The bad bill was discovered shortly before midnight Aug. 12.

An “officer was dispatched to the Route 6 Food and Fuel reference a complaint of forgery,” police said. “The complainant advised that an unknown person used counterfeit money to purchase merchandise.”

The crook remains at large.
