Crook Manages to Lug Couch From Walmart Furniture Section to Register & Get Paid

An apparently resourceful and convincing crook managed to get a Walmart worker to pay him a refund for a couch he had never bought in the first place.

The thief struck at the East Lincoln Highway superstore about 9 p.m. Wednesday.

An officer on the case was told the sofa-stealer “selected a couch from the furniture area of the store, then brought the couch to the register and returned the couch for cash,” police said.

The furniture-filcher remains at large.
