Curtain Call Theatre on Front Street in Mokena is so excited to welcome back patrons after a long 18 month extended intermission. During the pandemic, there were so many creative online & video theatre experiences, but nothing is better than actors on stage hearing the thunderous applause of their audience.

Lend Me A Tenor, is the winner of 3 Tony Awards and 4 Drama Desk Awards. This hysterical farce is set in September 1934, where The Cleveland Grand Opera Company, is primed to welcome world-famous singer Tito Merelli, known as Il Stupendo, the greatest tenor of his generation, to appear for one night only as the star of the opera. Tito arrives late, and through a hilarious series of mishaps, mistaken identities and slamming doors, the cast will take you on a madcap ride of laughter.

The famed Tito is being played by Mike Bultman, an amazing tenor in his own right and the Choral Director of Lincoln-Way Central High School. His fiery wife, Maria is played by Marta Koonce, the Theatre Director at Lincoln-Way West, Noonan Academy and Curtain Call. The man tasked with keeping the famous Tito in line is Max, played by the talented Ken Czechanski, who was last seen as Jonathan Brewster in Arsenic and Old Lace, Max’s beautiful fiancée Maggie is played by Grace Pieczynski who was last in 12 Angry Jurors. Maggie’s father and the man most likely to get an ulcer from Tito is Mr. Saunders, the General Manager of the Cleveland Opera. Returning to the Chicago area from Washington D.C. after 20 years is Jim Berard as Mr. Saunders and Jean Berard as Julia, the Chairman of the Opera Guild. Also debuting on the Curtain Call Stage is Devon Ford as the gifted Soprano; Diana. Last but not least is the star-struck Bellboy played by Rob Pieczynski, who will keep you laughing with all of his antics trying to meet the famous Tito.
