D122 Wrestler Wins Second State Championship

NEW LENOX, IL — Alex M. Martino Junior High student Nathan Knowlton recently won his second IESA State Wrestling Championship. According to the IESA website, Knowlton won the Class AA 75-pound championship.

Knowlton defeated Mason Thynes of Mascoutah by fall in the first round. According to the IESA website, he faced Zack Hornickle of Lake in the Hills Marlowe and he won by fall in the quarterfinals. In the semi-finals, he won by decision against Caden HAtton of Mahomet-Seymour.

In the championship, Knowlton faced Hudson Ikens of DeKalb Huntley and won by fall.
