Driver In 2-Car Crash Charged With DUI: New Lenox PD
The crash happened just before 10 p.m. April 7, at Rte 30 near Schoolhouse Road.
NEW LENOX, IL — A 37-year-old New Lenox man was charged with DUI following a two-car crash Friday night in New Lenox.
Police were called just before 10 p.m. to the crash at Schoolhouse Road and Rte 30. Police said the driver of one car, identified as John Spero, 37, of New Lenox, was found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Both drivers refused medical attention, police said. The road was closed briefly while both cars were removed from the scene.

Spero was taken to the New Lenox Police Department, where he posted bond and was released.
No further details on the crash were available Saturday morning.
