
New Lenox Community Band Begins Summer Concert Series
The New Lenox Community Band is gearing up to present its first concert of the season, “Musicals: Old and New.” The concert will take place on Sunday June 9th at the beautiful New Lenox Performing Arts Pavilion. The concert will begin at 7pm. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair! The program will include selections from “Camelot,” “My Fair Lady,” and “Wicked,” and will also include several other concert band favorites. Admission to the concert is FREE, and concessions are available for purchase.
The New Lenox Community Band is in its 8th season. The 50-piece concert band is comprised of adults from New Lenox and over 16 of the surrounding communities. Members of the band come from many different professions: teachers and administrators, doctors, engineers, therapists, machinists, and students. Rehearsals for the band take place on Sundays throughout the summer at Lincoln-Way West High School, in New Lenox. The band is under the direction of Daniel Romano and Cary Ruklic.

The second concert of the band will be on July 14, and will include many American favorites. The third and final concert of the summer will be August 25th.
