Star Wars Museum at Martino Junior High

On Friday, Dec. 10 and Saturday, Dec. 11, the Martino Junior High School Student Council will host a Star Wars Museum with proceeds benefiting Toys for Tots.

Martino teacher, John Wettergren, is donating his $10,000 Star Wars collection for viewing. The collection includes prop replicas of blasters, light sabers, and helmets, and collectible memorabilia, including a life-sized Darth Vader and Yoda. Museum goers will enjoy a toy raffle, Star Wars movie, Jedi Training School for kids, Star Wars coloring center, Star Wars legos, and Star Wars-themed concessions for sale.

"The Star Wars Museum will be a great day, for a great cause," said Brandon Kilstrom, Martino's student council co-sponsor. "Martino Jr. High has supported the Toys for Tots program for many years and is thrilled to offer the community this fun-filled event for fans of all ages."

The cost for entry is $2 and children under 3-years-old are free. If you would rather donate a new toy, each donated new toy will give you one free entry. The toy must be in its original packaging.

The museum will be located at Martino Junior High School, 731 E. Joliet Hwy. in New Lenox. Hours are Friday, Dec. 10 from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 11 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
