Fire At New Lenox Ace Hardware Store

NEW LENOX, IL - The New Lenox Fire Protection District is currently investigating the cause of a structure that damaged the New Lenox Ace Hardware store in the 300 block of West Maple Street late Sunday morning. The fire was reported at 10:51 a.m., the fire district stated in a press release.

"Upon arrival, there was light smoke showing from the front of the building, as well as smoke on the interior of both floors. The fire was contained to the outside of the building with minimal damage to the inside. There were no injuries," New Lenox Fire officials announced on Sunday afternoon.

Firefighters from numerous area departments responded to the call besides New Lenox, including East Joliet, Elwood, Lockport, Manhattan, Mokena, Orland Park, Homer Township and Frankfort.
