New Lenox Overeaters Anonymous group to hold an Open Meeting

The public is welcome to attend an Open Meeting of Overeaters Anonymous on Tuesday, June 30, from 7-8pm at Trinity Lutheran Church (508 N. Cedar Rd., New Lenox, IL 60451).

This Open Meeting will feature two members of Overeaters Anonymous, who will speak and share their experience, strength and hope regarding their recovery from compulsive eating and compulsive food behaviors. The public, including family members and friends of those in OA, in addition to medical professionals, are welcome to attend this meeting to become more informed about Overeaters Anonymous and how we can help.

Overeaters Anonymous is not a diet club. There are no dues, fees or weigh-ins. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop eating compulsively.

Founded in 1960 with three members, OA views compulsive eating as a physical, emotional and spiritual disease that can be arrested but not cured. Members seek recovery on all three levels by following a twelve-step program patterned after that of Alcoholics Anonymous.
