Gregory Pratt won a prestigious community journalism award for his continued reporting of the district's financial issues.

NEW LENOX, IL - A former Daily Southtown reporter received a prestigious journalism award recently for his work on investigations regarding the financial practices of the Lincoln-Way High School District 210.
Gregory Pratt is the 2016 winner of the Scripps Howard Award for community journalism, the Southtown reported. Pratt now works on the Chicago Tribune’s metro desk.
Pratt’s reporting uncovered about $40 million in “insider deals, waste and questionable budgeting practices and private uses of public resources enabled by a supine school board,” according to the Southtown.
