Fraudulent Check At New Lenox Walmart: Complaint

New Lenox Police are still looking for this defendant.

NEW LENOX, IL -A 24-year-old woman from Chicago is now wanted by the New Lenox Police in connection with allegations that she passed off a fraudulent check of more than $1,000 at the Walmart on East Lincoln Highway. Last week, New Lenox Police charged Breeona Battle with forgery, a class 3 felony.

The complaint states that Battle visited the Walmart on Jan. 17 "with the intent to defraud ... a document apparently capable of defrauding another in that it purported to have been made by another or by authority of one who did not give such authority."

The check was drawn off an account from the PNC Bank, dated Jan. 14, and it was "payable to Breeona Battle in the amount of $1,106.37, knowing it have been thus made or altered," the complaint states.

So far, Battle has not been apprehended by the New Lenox Police, but the bench warrant is out for her arrest. Court records listed her address as the 8100 block of South Manistee Avenue in Chicago.
