New Lenox Businesses Offer Free Meals For First Responders

Over the past few years good neighbors within the Laraway Ridge Plaza realized they shared the same passion when it came to giving back when and where they could. From that point, State Farm agent Kevin Molloy and his team, and Dr. Paul Etchison, the owner of Nelson Ridge Family Dental and his team, have sponsored Blood Drives, a Shred Events and are currently hosting a Micro Pantry. The next effort will launch next Thursday, April 9, 2020, when their teams come together to thank our first responders and health care workers with a free meal.

Beginning on Thursday April 9 and each Thursday in April, the Nelson Ridge Family Dental and Molloy State Farm will provide a hot dog OR Sloppy Joe, small fry and small drink from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM and then again from 4:00-6:00 at the New Lenox Creamery on the corner of Nelson Road and Laraway Road. This is for all first responders and medical professionals through the drive thru. They simply have to request one of those two options and show their first responder ID or health care ID to receive the free meal.

Molloy and Etchison feel as though these heroes should be rewarded in some way through their daily acts of bravery. Dr Etchison stated, “These men and women are doing things few would want to do on a daily basis. They have families at home, yet they put their life on the line each day for our best interest.”

Molloy lamented that working with the doctor makes him smile because as young businessperson, he knows the importance of giving back and understands life isn’t about us. Molloy’s motto during this tough time is borrowed from Jon Bon Jovi who said last week, “when you can’t do what you do, you do what you can.”

Molloy and Etchison offices are located across the street from the Creamery in the Laraway Ridge Plaza.
