From $400M to 1: Silver Cross Hospital, By the Numbers

has been operating in New Lenox for almost a week now, and there's no denying what the hospital's presence means for the village.

In the past month, I've written about the public tours, coordinating the hospital's move and lots more, but let's break down some of the numbers that show how big of a story this was:

$400 million cost of the hospital

553,000 total square footage of the building

289 beds (private and family friendly)

38 private rooms in the emergency department
