Gimme 5: Have a Scoring Need? Call on Reed

Providence Catholic's Chris Reed scored nine goals during the Celtics' stellar 4-0 week with wins against Lincoln-Way East, Mother McAuley, Joliet Catholic Academy and Bishop McNamara.

Here's a question for you: What will occur first? Consistent warm weather for spring sports in the New Lenox area or Chris Reed breaking the all-time scoring record at Providence Catholic?

The way things are going, most would choose Reed.

The University of Cincinnati recruit has continued her brilliant career with a strong start to her senior season to help the Celtics get off to a 4-1-1 start.

Reed seemingly did it all last week to help the Celtics win four straight.

She scored twice in a 4-0 victory against Lincoln-Way East on Monday. She scored the game-winner in a 1-0 win over Mother McAuley on Wednesday. She scored twice in a 4-1 victory over Joliet Catholic Academy on Friday.

And, on Saturday, she scored all four of Providence's goals in a 4-0 victory over Bishop McNamara. The four goals gave her 100 for her career and she's only four goals away from establishing a new school record.

"With Chris Reed on the field, there's always a chance for the Celtics," Providence coach Dan Potempa said.
