Gina's Teardrop Cafe Opens Second Location In New Lenox Library

NEW LENOX, IL — Gina's Teardrop Cafe will be opening a second location inside New Lenox Public Library. The cafe, which is located at 826 W. Laraway Road, will open Teardrop at the Library in the space formerly occupied by Just for U Cafe, according to a release from the village.

“The library is excited to welcome Teardrop at the Library to its cafe space!” Michelle Krooswyk, director of the New Lenox Public Library District, said in a release. “Earlier this year, the
library issued a request for proposal for its cafe space and was lucky to receive several qualified
applicants. After reviewing and discussing the submissions, the New Lenox Library District board of trustees selected Gina's Teardrop Cafe."

Krooswyk said the quality of the proposal, the business' history of success and the business' investment in the community were determining factors in its selection.

"Improvements to the space are being made and the cafe will be starting curbside services in early July," Krooswyk said.

“The chamber is thrilled that Gina’s Teardrop Cafe will open in the New Lenox Public Library’s café space. Both Gina’s Teardrop Cafe and the library are deeply invested in our community and we are certain that their partnership will be successful," Emily Johnson, New Lenox Chamber of Commerce CEO, said in a release.

A ribbon cutting will be held for the opening of the cafe on July 8.
