he who formed you, O Israel:

2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not consume you. ~ Isaiah 43:1-2
Many people wonder if they are good enough. Good enough to have what they have, to have the family and friends that they are blessed with and yes, even to have the love of God. It may be that guilt of things they have done in the past still haunt them. They may feel that they are unforgivable because they cannot even forgive themselves.
God, however, loves us with a love that we cannot even fathom. How many of us would allow our own son or daughter to die a horrific death so that others can live? It is a question that leaves us wondering how far we would be willing to go to extend love beyond our wildest imaginations. Yet God did just that and more by allowing His Son to conquer death so that we could live and be reconciled to Him.
As our pastor often reminds us, “God loves you and there is nothing you can do about it.” He is with us at all times – good and bad – walking beside us, waiting for us to lean on Him in times of trouble and to rejoice with Him during our celebrations. There is absolutely NOTHING we can do that will separate us from His love for us! We are His children, loved beyond any measure that we can explain. This make us “good enough” no matter how we may feel we measure up to what God has given us.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
It is unfathomable to us how much You love us, yet You remain steadfastly beside us, waiting for us to turn to you in our times of joy as well as sorrow. Thank You for being such a loving Father to us, despite our straying from time to time. Thank You for always calling us back to You and loving us beyond measure, Amen.
