Haunted New Lenox: Gougar Road & Route 6
Ready to get in the Halloween spirit? Read about some local places rumored to be haunted.

Why it’s haunted: There have been numerous reports of a headless man walking along side the street near Gougar Road and Route 6. He is believed to be the ghost of a man who lived nearby and committed suicide by hanging himself in a nearby barn.
Why it’s not: The barn was torn down years ago, so while that could explain the ghost's aimless wandering, it could also mean this never actually happened. Also, spotting a ghost can take lots of patience, and drivers are in their cars often zipping past the area.
Ghost-hunting tip: Safety first! Carry identification, go in a group of people and try to arrive during the day to avoid having to navigate through the dark. For a full list of rules and protocols for ghost hunting, go to the Will County Ghost Hunters Society website.
