Heads Up: Work At CN Railroad Crossing To Close Portion Of Nelson Road

NEW LENOX, IL — CN Railroad will be performing maintenance work at the railroad crossing at Nelson Road, resulting in a temporary closure.

The closure is expected to begin Thursday, June 18 at 7 a.m., expected to reopen on Saturday, June 20. The crossing is located on Nelson Road, a quarter-mile south of Illinois Highway.

CN Railroad has placed advance notice signs to inform motorists of the upcoming closure.

A posted detour route will guide drivers using Laraway Road, Cedar Road, and Illinois Highway. Drivers should follow all signage in the area. See a map of detours online.
