A New Lenox family has started a GoFundMe to help pay for the medical bills for the care of Lorenzo Michael, who died at birth on Oct. 4.

NEW LENOX, IL -- A New Lenox family who suffered from the ultimate tragedy of losing a child at birth is raising money to help cover the medical expenses associated with the loss of Lorenzo Michael, who died on Oct. 4.
A GoFundMe effort for Lorenzo Michael's Medical Fund has received support from 47 people in the 20 days it has been opened. As of Monday, Oct. 16 $2,355 of the $5,000 goal the campaign has has been raised.
"We tried everything to save our baby but it did not work unfortunately," said a heartbroken Mike McKillip of New Lenox, Lorenzo's father. Mike and the baby's mother, Trisha, still have several medical bills to pay and will only have the money raised from the campaign and Mike's income to help pay them.
