Each year in May and July the Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion and Legion Riders of the Thomas E. Hartung American Legion Post 1977 asks the community for their support while shopping at Berkot’s, Whitmore Ace Hardware and Jewel (on Laraway) and as they drive down Cedar. And each year these businesses, their managers and employees and the community respond with resounding support!
Because of you:
-We are able to send Veterans on Honor Flight, which for most is a bucket list, once in a lifetime trip.
-We are able to support organizations such at the Warriors Walk who continue to fight every day for our Veterans in need, to help prevent Veteran suicide – one is too many.
-We purchase wreaths for Wreaths across America at three locations to honor and remember our Veterans who are no longer with us, their selfless sacrifice in the military and who, after serving our Country, continued to give to our communities in countless ways.
-We are able to provide the best Veterans Day Luncheon to our local Veterans!
