Jim Cornelison Will Sing National Anthem At Lincoln-Way East-Central Football Game

The famous Chicago Blackhawks anthem singer will kickoff the "Salute to Service" game between Lincoln-Way East and Lincoln-Way Central.

NEW LENOX, IL -- One of the world's most famous National Anthem singers will deliver his version of the Star Spangled Banner at the rivalry football game between Lincoln-Way East and Lincoln-Way Central on Friday, Sept. 22 in New Lenox. Jim Cornelison, the anthem singer for the Chicago Blackhawks, will perform thanks to a sponsorship from Orland Toyota.

Cornelison is widely considered to be one of the world's most famous anthem singers, drawing fans on their feet throughout his performance before home games for the Blackhawks. The special Cornelison performance will be made during the "Salute to Service" game between Central and East, in which veterans will be honored and students in the student sections will be waving American flags. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.

Throughout the week before the game, the Lincoln-Way Central Athletic Department will be sell T-shirts to the entire student body in the main cafeteria during lunch periods. The cost of the shirt is $10 proceeds from the sale will be donated to the Honor Flight Network, a non-profit organization created to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices. Honor Flight transports the nation's heroes to Washington, D.C. where they visit and reflect at their memorials.
