Sam Gatti-Corrigan, 24, of the 300 block of Harwood, was arrested shortly after the crash, which happened at around 9 p.m. in the 2500 block of Cass Street, Will County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Kathy Hoffmeyer said.
A witness told police that Gatti-Corrigan’s Cadillac was traveling at a high rate of speed when it crossed the center line into the oncoming lane before rolling over, police said. The witness estimated the vehicle was going at least 70 mph, according to Hoffmeyer.

The roof of the vehicle was crushed, Hoffmeyer said, and there was extensive damage to all sides of the Cadillac.
Hoffmeyer said it was unclear how many times the vehicle rolled, although Gatti-Corrigan told police it rolled just once.
New Lenox firefighters were on the scene of the crash by the time deputies arrived to find Gatti-Corrigan being treated for minor injuries to his hand, Hoffmeyer said.
Deputies who arrived on the crash site spoke to Gatti-Corrigan, who allegedly smelled of alcohol, Hoffmeyer said.
Gatti-Corrigan was arrested and taken into custody at the Will County jail on charges of DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and reckless driving, according to jail records.
Hoffmeyer said no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
