Joliet Montessori School Adds Staff to Upper Elementary
Jacquelyn Huntley will support classroom activities and office administration

Joliet Montessori School (JMS) has announced another staff addition with the hiring of Jacquelyn Huntley. A native of New Lenox, Miss Huntley will fulfill a dual role for the school. She will work in the upper elementary classroom (fourth through sixth grade) in support of directress Ashley Zupan, and in the school’s front office in an administrative role.
Miss Huntley brings several years of education experience to JMS, including her self-employment as a music tutor for children, her volunteer work as a music therapist with Cornerstone Services and Western Illinois University. She previously held an office administration role with All About Music and Children’s Theatre in Mokena, Illinois.
“We’re always excited to add staff,” Heidi Geiger, Head of School said, “but in this case, we feel we’ve found someone who has a unique combination of skills and competencies that will improve the classroom experience for our upper elementary kids and also help us continue to run our school efficiently.”

“Miss Huntley’s extensive musical education is particularly valuable,” Geiger added. “Music and the arts remain a central pillar in Montessori education, even as many schools districts face funding cuts in this curriculum area.”
JMS is unique among area Montessori Schools in that it offers a complete range of programs for children from 18 months to ninth grade, as well as being the only Montessori School in Will County holding certifications from both the American Montessori Society and Association Montessori Internationale.
