Joliet Montessori School Expands Popular Parent/Child Program
Starting in January, the Parent/Child program welcomes families with children from birth to 36 months

Due to popular demand, Joliet Montessori School (JMS) has expanded its Parent/Toddler program to become the Parent/Child program, now open to families from birth to 36 months, starting with the new session beginning January 17th, 2019. Classes will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:20 to 11:00 a.m., beginning January 15.
The program is now open for January enrollments, and interested families are urged to act quickly as the 20-seat program is currently 75 percent full. Remaining slots are expected to go fast.

Head of School Heidi Geiger, who personally instructs the program, said that the decision to expand was easy. “We’ve seen incredible growth in this program over the last couple of years, and since Montessori education is designed to complement and nourish a child’s natural curiosity, it’s a perfect fit for even the youngest learners.”
Building a lifelong love of learning is what Montessori education is about, and early starters can definitely benefit even before they are walking or speaking,” Geiger said. “When you see a child’s face light up with new understanding, you don’t need words to know that something amazing has just happened in his or her life.”

The Parent/Child room will be one of six classrooms open to interested families during the November 27th Open House, taking place from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at 1600 Root Street in Crest Hill. All area families are invited to see the facilities and meet teachers, administrators, board members and families at the Open House. You can also book a tour with Heidi here.
