Knights of Columbus 2015 Lenten Fish Frys
Fish, shrimp and more return once again to St. Jude gym on Friday nights for 6 weeks in February and March
With Lenten season upon us leading up to Easter, it is once again fish fry season as Catholics observe the tradition of abstaining from meat on Fridays -- though you don’t have to be Catholic to enjoy the experience! Among the many charitable organizations hosting fish frys is the Knights of Columbus. And among the many Knights groups is the Father Dick Allen — New Lenox Council #10926 of St. Jude Church at 241 West 2nd Avenue in New Lenox, IL.
Along with the traditional fish dishes (shrimp, cod – baked or fried – and shrimp/cod combo), the New Lenox Knights of Columbus will also once again be serving such things as grilled cheese sandwiches, onion rings, french fries, baked potatoes and deep-fried cheese curds! All items are reasonably priced with generous portions served by an efficient group of volunteers. Every food order includes unlimited salad and coffee or tea. Other beverages – including a full bar – and desserts are available as well. Carry outs are gladly available.
The proceeds from the annual event will once again be going into the Knights’ general fund to benefit a variety of charities. You do not need to be Catholic to attend and enjoy some delicious food...all are welcome.
