L-W District 210 Approves Tax Levy

The levy reflects a $2.8 million increase over 2013.

The Lincoln-Way High School District 210 Board of Education this week signed off on a $77 million tax levy for 2014—which shows an increase of 3.6 percent, or $2.8 million over last year’s.

The district will collect the levy through property taxes in the upcoming school year, according to Ron Sawin, the district’s assistant superintendent for finance. The levy also reportedly is less than that of 2009, 2010 and 2012, Tribune Media reports.

The district’s property tax revenue for the current school year was $72.2 million, with projections for next year’s set at $73.9 million—with a tax rate increase from $2.06 to $2.07 for every $100 of equalized assessed value.
