L-W East Chess Team Wins Conference Title

The Lincoln-Way East High School Chess Team came home with the conference title after a long day o competition.

“After winning the conference title the team’s record is 8-2-1,” said Head Coach Matt Johnson.

“This is absolutely one of the best groups of players I’ve ever coached. They have a great sportsmanship and are consistently dedicated to improving themselves.”

The meet was held at Homewood-Flossmoor High School Saturday, Jan. 24.

Griffins team members are: Josh Geoppo, Spencer Martin, Lindsey Lamorte, Anna Piech, Danny Provis, Slawomir Jozwik, Levi Ruby, Raj Patel, Daniel Zhao and Weston Dell.
