L-W East Teachers and Students Square Off in Charity Basketball Game

The game is set for March 27.

Teachers and students at Lincoln-Way East High School will square off for the school’s annual Mike Davis Faculty Basketball Game Challenge, which helps fund student scholarships. The friendly competition will be held in the East gymnasium on March 27 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 at the door.

“This event is especially fun to watch as teachers and students love to go up against each other for a good cause,” said Steve Miller, social science department chair at East and chairman of the event.

The Mike Davis Faculty Game began more than 17 years ago in a match-up between teachers over 40 and teachers under 40. Scholarships are dedicated for students who want to pursue a career in teaching.
