Let Your Faith Dance in Praise!

Devotion to let your faith "dance" in praise to God for all He has given you.

1 Praise the Lord!
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty firmament!
2 Praise him for his mighty deeds;
praise him according to his surpassing greatness!

3 Praise him with trumpet sound;
praise him with lute and harp!
4 Praise him with tambourine and dance;
praise him with strings and pipe!
5 Praise him with clanging cymbals;
praise him with loud clashing cymbals!
6 Let everything that breathes praise the Lord!
Praise the
Lord!

~ Psalm 150

Fall has finally arrived. The multi-colored leaves have begun to fall and scuttle across the ground. Just the other day, a swift breeze swirled a group of leaves into a circular whirlwind, allowing them to perform their final dance of autumn across the parking lot while the sun’s spotlight illuminated their short-lived, graceful movements before me.

We can learn from these leaves. In our lives, we need to make sure that we “dance in praise” to our Heavenly Father for all He has given us! Yes, there are days we really don’t feel like lifting our hearts in praise ~ especially when life seems to be dragging us down. Yet even the leaves of fall dance in praise when life has “brought them down” from their better days of life attached to their trees. Just because life isn’t always being lived on a “high note” doesn’t mean there isn’t something to be grateful for and able to lift up in praise to God. Maybe our health is failing, maybe we can’t get around like we used to, but we can always give praise to God for yet another day in which to share in the love of friends and family, a roof over our heads, the ability to experience the beauty of each day He has allowed us to see or for the food He has provided for us.

You say you can’t dance? Well, maybe your dance doesn’t have to be a physical dance, but rather allowing your heart to and soul move to the beat of a silent “music” of faith within your own being can be your dance of faith. However you choose to dance, let yourself go to the beat of life itself to praise God for all He has blessed you with.

Prayer

Dear Lord,

Thank you for yet another beautiful day to share in Your creation. Let my life dance in praise before You for all You have chosen to bless me with. Amen.
