Lincoln-Way Board Of Education Member Submits Resignation

Wilkes said he has "mixed emotions" about his resignation.

NEW LENOX, IL — The Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210 has accepted the resignation of Peter Wilkes from the Board of Education effective Aug. 30. In Wilkes' letter of resignation, he said he has "mixed emotions" about his resignation. Wilkes has been promoted in the Will County State's Attorney's Office and will have greater responsibilities in his professional career.

“Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210 is comprised of talented, competent, and conscientious people whose sole goal is to provide the best education to our students within the safest school environment possible,” Wilkes wrote in his letter of resignation. “The people in our community with children attending school in this district can easily rest knowing their children are receiving the highest quality of education in this state.”

The district congratulated Wilkes for his promotion in the Will County States Attorney’s Office and thanked him for his service to the Lincoln-Way 210 Board of Education.
