the Junior Gold Championships Opening Ceremony in July. Candidates were selected based on grade-point average, their bowling and academic achievements, an essay and two letters of recommendation.

The district said she was also a member of the National Honor Society, on the Mathletes team that was a state qualifier each of her four years, and did community work through Leo Club, part of the New Lenox Lions Club.
