Lincoln-Way Central Earns IHSA State Final Sportsmanship Banner

The school's athletes were recognized for their sportsmanship and conduct.

Lincoln-Way Central High School earned a Do What’s Right! State Final Sportsmanship Banner from the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) during the 2015 Wrestling State Finals.

“Your school has set a high standard for other schools to follow during regular season and post-season play,” said IHSA Executive Director Martin Hickman.

The IHSA awards sportsmanship banners to schools whose teams demonstrate sportsmanship during the state final tournaments. Schools’ coaches, players and fans are graded by Sportsmanship Advisory Committee members, IHSA staff members and other tournament personnel.

“I am proud of our students for representing Lincoln-Way and its communities with integrity and respect,” said Hud Venerable, Lincoln-Way Central’s Athletic Director. “Sportsmanship is an important character trait developed by our student athletes and emphasized in all of our boys and girls sports teams.”
