Lincoln-Way Central, West Mathletes Advance To State Contest
The Lincoln-Way Central and West Mathletes both won the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics regional championships Feb. 22.
NEW LENOX, IL — The Lincoln-Way Central and West Mathletes both won the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics regional championships Feb. 22, the district shared on its Facebook page. The two teams will advance to the state math contest May 2 at the University of Illinois.
At the ICTM regional competition, each school competed in 10 different events.
The district said on Facebook the Lincoln-Way Central Mathletes competed in the 3AA competition and captured five first place spots and five second place spots out of the 10 areas of competition.

In addition, the Lincoln-Way West Mathletes scored 536 points in the 4AA competition, winning the regional by 50 points, the district shared. Lincoln-Way East Mathletes came in second place, scoring 486 points.
