Lincoln-Way East Cheerleading Claims Top Spot at State

Lincoln-Way East cheerleading claimed a championship Saturday, finishing at the top of the pack in the 2015 IHSA Large Division Cheerleading State competition

The Griffins went into the finals with confidence after pacing the field In the prelims, posting the top score of 92.5. The squad’s performance in the finals earned them a 93.73—enough to put them .13 ahead of runnerup Lockport. Third place went to Nequa Valley with a 91.23, and Lincoln-Way North finished in fourth with a 90.93.

Orland Park’s Sandburg High School also finished in the top 10 in the state, with an 88.27 to land them sixth place.
