Teachers are often seen as “trusted adults” in a student’s life. For very involved students, it’s often they see teachers and coaches more than their parents. Lincoln-Way East is making sure all teachers have the tools necessary to help their students in a crisis situation, and to know the warning signs of self injury or suicide.
Today during their lunch hour, Director of PPS Jeanne Schaefer and Activities/Asset Director Jaime Pearson presented to teachers about the variety of support tools and events the school has in place to encourage healthy emotions and behavior. They also discussed how to handle a difficult situation in a classroom, and shared resources available to them as a Griffin team.
