Lincoln-Way Students Among Semifinalists In Tollway Art Contest
Among the 10 semifinalists, four are from Lincoln-Way schools.
NEW LENOX, IL — Several Lincoln-Way students are among the semifinalists of the 2020 Illinois Tollway map cover art contest. Through Nov. 4, the tollway said the public can go online and vote for their favorite entry in the contest.
This year, after several Illinois State troopers died in the line of duty, the tollway said the contest is recognizing the work done by the Illinois State Police patrolling tollways and state highways, protecting and assisting drivers despite the risks they face themselves.
“The artwork students submitted for this year’s contest truly reflects the respect and admiration students have for state troopers,” Illinois Tollway Executive Director José Alvarez said in a release. “We appreciate the students’ efforts to illustrate these heroic men and women and to remember those troopers who have sacrificed so much in service to the people of Illinois.”
