Lincoln-Way West Supporters Rally to Save School

Warrior families are circulating an online petition.

Lincoln-Way West supporters, heartbroken over the possible closing of the school, have turned to social media and an online petition to save it.

As one of the district’s newest schools and one that is not currently operating at full capacity, some believe Lincoln-Way West or North may be at risk as the board flounders to recover from dire financial straits. The board has said it will reach a decision in the next 30–60 days.

The current student body, all future students and all affected families are genuinely concerned about the long-term implications of closing the school that our children have been a part of through academics, athletics, and extra-curricular activities and where our children’s future educational/emotional needs would be met.

The next board meeting is set for Thursday, July 16, at 7 p.m. in the Lincoln-Way Central Fine Arts Center.
