LW 210 Cuts Teaching Staff District-wide
The board approved the decision at its meeting Thursday.

The Lincoln-Way District 210 Board of Education Thursday signed off on a district-wide reduction of its teaching force.
The decision comes a day after a public hearing on the dismissal of 28 full-time teaching positions, along with five retirees who will not be replaced—a move Superintendent Scott Tingley previously said would save the district an estimated $2.5 million. Board member Christopher Kosel read the list of 31 names affected.
The teachers retain call-back rights that extend to three years, meaning they will be offered any open positions in the future.
