LW 210 on State's Watch List Again
It's the third year in a row in which Lincoln-Way Community School District 210 finds itself on the state's financial watch list.

NEW LENOX, IL - Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210 has been placed on the state’s watch list for the third year in a row. The district learned of its status from the Illinois State Board of Education last week, according to an article from the Herald-News. LW 210 is one of 19 school districts that remain on the list, which also includes Chicago Public Schools.
The district landed on the list in 2015 after years of spending more money than bringing in. The financial crisis came to a head a year later when Lincoln-Way North High School, an institution just seven years old, closed to help cut costs.
District Superintendent Scott Tingley had vowed to improve the district finances gradually with surpluses each year. Tingley and other officials expect to make a surplus of about $2 million this year.
